In early July 2026, thirty-five disciple makers gathered in Yaoundé, Cameroon for Disciple Makers Increase’s Level 1 On-site training. For months, (DMI) leaders had sensed the Lord’s leading them toward Central Africa. This was our first On-site Training in Cameroon. A growing handful of local believers had already completed DMI’s online Getting Started in Disciple-Making Movements (GSDMM) course and begun planting the seeds of the Gospel in their communities. The online course laid the foundation of the principles of disciple making. On-site training further helps our leaders, coaches and participants connect. The relationships that are built, the prayers that are said together in unity and the encouragement that is given face to face is priceless in giving the disciple makers a boost in their ministry.
On-site Level 1 trainings serve as an essential accelerator within DMI’s global framework. DMI trainers have consistently observed that physical gatherings turn knowledge into immediate action, frequently driving multiplying movement breakthroughs seen on the field. Together leaders and participants can tackle real life obstacles and strategize based on each other’s experience.
Equipping Local Disciple-Makers for Multiplication
Facilitated by ministry experienced coaches, the four-day intensive in Yaoundé brought together 35 active disciple-makers, including several local pastors, many of whom were already overseeing multiplying groups. The core philosophy driving DMI’s Level 1 curriculum is simple: teach less content but teach it so deeply and practically that every participant can immediately replicate it upon returning home. Over the course of the training, participants dove into interactive, skill-based modules designed to shift their ministry paradigm from addition to multiplication.
The curriculum challenged participants to embrace their vital biblical identity as royal priests, fruit-bearers, and trainers of trainers. Through illustrations, trainees grasped their role in carrying out the Great Commission. Facilitators modeled practical tools including the 3-minute gospel testimony, prayer walking, praying over “Lost & Saved” lists, and launching Discovery Bible Studies (DBS). This is all centered on finding a “Person of Peace” within local regions. The on-site training is highly interactive. The trainees spent time practicing these skills directly with one another. They also practice by going out into the surrounding community to share their faith, and returning to debrief their real-world encounters.

The response from the Cameroonian leaders was joyful and receptive. Facilitators noted a spiritual connection in the room as participants absorbed the disciple making foundations.
