Day three was our first day of “Looking up” to find strength and guidance from God. The theme was: Persevering Despite the Cost involved as we take the good news to the unreached and launch new movements. It was also a time of corporate remembering of those who have given their lives for the gospel and gone to be with Jesus ahead of us.
Our first speaker of the day was the International leader of YWAM Frontier Missions, Fred Berrington, of South Africa. Telling the story from Mark 2:1-12 with his wife Paula, in creative and memorable ways, Fred spoke to us of the need for teamwork and perseverance as we cross barriers and overcome obstacles to bring people to Christ.

A Call to Be Willing to Die for Christ
Our second speaker, a Nigerian movement leader, called us to commitment and a willingness to give our all for the sake of the Kingdom. Speaking from Psalm 116 and Hebrews 11, she passionately exhorted us to do whatever it takes to see movements among the unreached.

Remembering the Martyrs in our Movements
After our second speaker, a movement leader from Nigeria, gave a challenging word, we took a few moments of silence to remember the lives of those who gave their all for the sake of the gospel. As we looked at the stars on the screen, each one of the 532 representing a life laid down for Jesus, we mourned and prayed for their families. Their commitment and sacrifice inspire us to give our all for the cause of Christ.

Discovery Bible Study
As we did each day, we spent time in the Word of God together, in groups of four to six people. We read, repeated, and then processed Scripture together, considering how it applies to our lives. Participants found these times of bible study rich and meaningful.

Prayer & Reflection
As participants considered the cost involved in taking the gospel to the unreached and frontier peoples, there was much prayer and contemplation. God was calling us to a greater level of commitment.
Many came forward for prayer to be set free from fear, especially the fear of death. We are determined to go wherever God sends, and to boldly witness to the truth of the gospel, no matter the cost.
DMI Values on Movemental Structures & Family/Community

Our day concluded with lively discussions on DMI values 3 and 4. God was deepening our understanding of and commitment to these important values. All were seeing that together as a family, with deep community, we can do much. In everything we do, we strive to follow movement principles. Including how we run onsite trainings, coaching, and everything related to DMI.
God was on the move among us! And there was more to come…
